Ruffle Skirt |
|
My ruffle skirts make a wonderful foundation garment for any Ren Faire or Steampunk ensemble. They look great worn alone, and also work beautifully in layered outfits. With layering in mind, I make them with a trimmed down waistband for absolutely minimal bulk at the waist beneath your bodice or corset but with a super full hemline for amazing swish when you walk and gorgeous folds without odd poofs and pulls when worn tucked up. This particular style starts off as a basic circle skirt, then I add on yards and yards and yards of ruffles. The skirt features a drawstring waistband to ensure that your skirt stays put beneath your bodice or corset all day long. The ruffles are edged in a serger rolled hem on top and bottom in a matching or contrasting color. In some photos, it is shown tucked into the waistband. They are available in cotton broadcloth, taffeta, embroidered taffeta, and special order damasks and brocades. Garment Care:
